DISPERSION SHIFTED FIBER WITH TRIPLE CLAD

PURPOSE: A dispersion shifted fiber with triple clad is provided to reduce the loss due to a bending by adjusting a semi-diameter and a refractive index of each of two inner clads. CONSTITUTION: A first core(22) is placed on the center of an optical fiber and has a refractive index of r1 and a semi-diameter of a1. A second core(24) encloses the first core(22) and has a refractive index of r2 and a semi-diameter of a2. A first inner clad(32) encloses the second core(24) and has a refractive index of r3 and a semi-diameter of a3. A second inner clad(34) encloses the first inner clad(32) and has a refractive index of r4 and a semi-diameter of a4. A silica clad(40) encloses the second inner clad(34) and has a refractive index of r5. Each of the semi-diameters is defined by a distance between a center axis of the optical fiber to a corresponding outer interface.
