METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR SCREENING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE SPECIFICALLY PRODUCED BY MIXED CULTURE AND/OR PRODUCING MICROORGANISM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for searching for a new physiologically active substance produced by a microorganism under a circumstance combined with other organisms (animals, microorganisms or plants). SOLUTION: A plurality of separated and identified microorganisms are properly combined with each other and subjected to mixed culture in plural culture media. The physiologically active substance produced by the mixed culture is identified and the combination of the plural microorganisms producing the physiologically active substance is specified to screen the physiologically active substance specifically producible by the mixed culture and the microorganisms producing the physiologically active substance. An apparatus capable of automatically performing the above procedures at a high speed by computer control, especially an apparatus characterized in the angling device to enable automatic implantation of microorganism is developed based on the above findings and the apparatus is systemized to enable the mixed culture of several to several ten thousand kinds of microorganisms in high efficiency and the screening of the physiologically active substance specifically produced by the mixed culture and/or the microorganisms producing the substance.
