PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device and an input method that can input, by the operation of one or a few switches, information related to the operation of a keyboard and a mouse. SOLUTION: The input device has touch sensor circuits 10, 11, a microcomputer 12, a personal computer interface circuit 18 for a USB or the like, and the like, and, by inputting Morse codes with the touch sensor circuits, can input the corresponding key code or mouse code to the personal computer. This invention permits a keyboard operation and a mouse operation only with one or several switches, and a quick and efficient input operation at user's pace as against a conventional scanning method, so that the user's fatigue can be lessened and an environment where the user can operate the personal computer for long hours can be provided.
