摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a flow rate of cooling water flowing in a drilled hole between cylinder bores and promote cooling of a partition wall between the bores. SOLUTION: Water jackets 7, 7 between bores and cooling holes 10, 10 (drilled holes) between bores connected with the water jackets 7, 7 and opening to an upper surface 2a of a cylinder block are formed on the partition wall 4 between the cylinder bores of the cylinder block 2. An upper water jacket 8 and a lower water jacket 9 are provided on a cylinder head 1, and one 8 which has lower pressure out of the upper water jacket 8 and the lower water jacket 9 is connected with the cooling holes 10, 10 between bores. Because the pressure of the upper water jacket 8 is lower than that of the lower water jacket 9, differential pressure between upstream and downstream end of the cooling holes 10, 10 between bores increases and the flow rate in the cooling holes 10, 10 between the bores increases.
