PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image synthesizing apparatus providing panoramic images of high accuracy even in the absence of sufficient matching between point features due to small amount of textures on images. SOLUTION: The image synthesizing apparatus for synthesizing two overlapping images includes a first means for extracting a linear segment of each image from the overlapping parts of the two image, a second means for obtaining the matching of the linear segments between both images, a third means for calculating a geometrical conversion parameter between both images, and a fourth means for synthesizing both images using the calculated geometrical conversion parameter.
