<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitting method for aural signal which has its compressibility improved by predictive encoding. SOLUTION: An adding circuit 1a computes the sum signal (L+R) of signals L and R of two stereophonic channels and a subtracting circuit 1b computes the difference signal (L-R). Difference arithmetic circuits 11D1 and 11D2 computes the current and last differencesΔ(L+R) andΔ(L-R) and predictive encoding circuits (14D1 and 15D2, and 16D1 and 16D2) compute predicted values of the differencesΔ(L+R) andΔ(L-R), computes respective predicted residues of the predicted values and differencesΔ(L+R) andΔ(L-R), and select the minimum predicted residue and transmit their predicted encoded data through a communication line.</p> |
