Washer fluid (6) stored in a second chamber (4) comprises a mixture of water and anti-freeze, the concentration of the latter depending on the lowest expected temperature. Washer fluid (5, 6) from both chambers (3, 4) can be supplied to a spray nozzle (9) via direct flow connection with the suction side of the fluid feed pump (8). Washer fluid is stored in two separate chambers, the first chamber being heatable and containing an anti-freeze-free fluid. A mixing device (7) for combining fluid from both chambers is connected to these two chambers via lines (14, 15), and to a spray nozzle via another line (16). A feed pump is used to supply the nozzle with washer fluid.
