Combination has bodywork (3) and optical device, e.g. rear light. Bodywork covers part (9) of body straps of vehicle, and has external skin formed by a plastic wall. Optical device has elements constituting box (7) containing panel (6) with light source, and window (8) allowing diffusion of light emitted by this light source. External skin of bodywork piece has recess (7) forming part of one of constituent elements of optical device.
