PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for taking in a head buoy and a head wire, capable of safely and easily connecting a head wire to the suspension wire of an anchor handling boat in a short time. SOLUTION: This device 10 for taking in the head wire is provided with the head buoy 1 in which a pipe 7 to pass a head wire 3 through the horizontal center part of a drum buoy 2 having an enlarged volume in its lower part is disposed, the pipe 7 has a trumpet 6 formed on the side protruding toward the upper part of the drum buoy, and one end of the head wire 3 is connected to the back of an anchor and the other end is successively connected to a wire eye 8 after passing through the pipe, and a head wire holding part 23 composed of a rotary plate 17 rotatably installed on an outer stanchion tube 14 attached to a stanchion 13, a first arm 18 vertically rotatable around a pivoted part at the upper position of the rotary plate 17, and a second arm 19 vertically rotatable around the pivoted part by being pivoted by the tip part of the first arm 18.
