The object of this invention is to provide an apparatus and method of cleaning glasses by automatically performing the cleaning steps, from washing to drying, thus easily cleaning the glasses while accomplishing a high degree of cleanliness. The apparatus has a housing (1), two vertical guide rails (12) set in the housing, a movable arm (10) held on the rails to be vertically movable along the rails by a rotation of a motor-operated screw shaft (11), a glasses seat (20) detachably hung on the end of the arm, two sensors (14, 14') provided on the rails (12= for controlling the operation of the motor (13), a dryer (30) provided on the passage of the seat (20) for drying the glasses using hot air, and a washing tray (40) positioned under the dryer (30) and cleaning the glasses (G) in washing liquid contained in the tray (40) using ultrasonic waves.The object of this invention is to provide an apparatus and method of cleaning glasses by automatically performing the cleaning steps, from washing to drying, thus easily cleaning the glasses while accomplishing a high degree of cleanliness.
