PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer in which a print head can be pressed uniformly against a platen by shifting the point at which the print head presses against the platen and oscillates. SOLUTION: The tape printer comprises a section 30 where a plurality of types of tape cartridge 20 can be fixed, a print head 50 which can oscillate about an intermediate point of an array of heating elements 53, a member 60 coupled with the print head 50 and pressing the print head 50 about the coupling point, a fulcrum pin 90 inserted into elongated holes 58 and 64 made in the print head 50 and the head pressing member 60 in order to coupling them and becoming the center of oscillation of the print head 50, and means 70 cooperating with the tape cartridge to align the fulcrum pin 90 with an intermediate position of a tape-like member in the widthwise direction.
