PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage gasification system improved in economy and reduced in installation cost as well while preventing increase of toxic substance emissions compared to the conventional cases. SOLUTION: This garbage gasification system works as follows: a combustible gas from a combustible gas treatment equipment 2 is used as the fuel for a melting furnace 3, an excess of the combustible gas for the melting furnace 3 is burnt in a combustor 5 to efficiently utilize the combustible gas from the equipment 2; wherein the combustible gas to be introduced into the combustor 5 represents the combustible gas obtained by cooling and dust collecting at the equipment 2 so as to simplify the construction of the combustor 5; the exhaust gas from the combustor 5 and an excess of the combustible gas for the combustor 5 are introduced into the secondary combustion chamber 3b of the melting furnace 3 to burn the excess of the combustible gas, and the temperature to rise otherwise at that time is restrained by the exhaust gas to inhibit an NOX generation and the exhaust gas from the secondary combustion chamber 3b is cooled and cleaned by an exhaust gas treatment equipment 6 and then discharged therefrom, thereby obviating the necessity of an exhaust gas treatment equipment to be installed on the latter stage of the combustor 5.
