PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a powder coating capable of efficiently regulating the gloss over a wide range without deteriorating film properties by addition of a small amount thereof and to obtain a gloss regulator for the powder coating. SOLUTION: This powder coating is prepared by externally adding a metallic salt of a 4-36C carboxylic acid to a powder particle containing a binding resin and a colorant. The gloss regulator comprises the metallic salt of the 4-36C carboxylic acid.
