PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a promoted catalyst wherein the activity is greatly enhanced as to the base catalyst and hence the overall yield of the product is also greatly enhanced. SOLUTION: There is provided a promoted catalyst containing a mixed metal oxide having the empirical formula: AaMbNcXdZeOf (wherein A is selected from Mo and W; M is selected from V and Ce; N is selected from Te, Sb, and Se; X is selected from Nb, Ta, Ti, etc.; Z is selected from the group consisting of Sc, Y, Pr, Nd, and Tb; and when a=1, b=0.01-1.0, c=0.01-1.0, d=0.01-1.0, e=0.01-0.1, and f depends on the oxidation states of the other elements). |
