PURPOSE: A home automation system and method using a mobile communication terminal is provided to monitor a status of a home by easily controlling and monitoring devices in the home, and by promptly dealing with the emergency in the home. CONSTITUTION: A central controller(20) is connected to a plurality of contact controller(40). The controller(20) receives status information of a cooling device(50), a heating device(60), a locking device(70) and an electronic appliance(80) from the controller(40). A contact mobile terminal(10) transmits an emergency signal through a mobile communication network(100) under the control of the controller(20). An Internet service providing company(130) transmits the emergency signal to a subscriber protecting unit(140). After the controller(20) receives the signal outputted from the controller(40), the controller(20) applies a control signal to an alarm generating unit(30).
