The carrier device has been developed for in-plant transport vehicles which are drawn by underground conveyors, the carrier devices of which can only be accommodated underneath the loading surfaces of the transport units for structural or technical reasons and which must therefore be foot-operated, for safety reasons as well. A release device which is rotatable via a joint and in which a detent pawl is accommodated is actuated by means of a foot pedal. The detent pawl is released by the releasing process. A carrier bolt which is attached to the detent pawl and passes through a guide rail falls as a result of its own weight through the gaps in the floor of the floor chain hoist and is carried along with the transport vehicle by the next drawbar of the underground conveyor. At the end of the underground conveyor, a lifter located on the carrier belt runs up a slope of approximately 10 cm in height which has been provided for this purpose, raising the carrier bolt and pressing the detent pawl back into the release device, i.e. into its starting position. The lifting mechanism can also be foot-actuated at any other point on the floor chain hoist by means of a lifting plate located on the lifter and returned to its starting position.
