PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge panel having proper display performance that has superior luminous efficiency. SOLUTION: In a cell corresponding to two neighboring partition walls 30, a pair of display electrodes 22, 23 (scan electrode 22, sustaining electrode 23), made of metal materials (Ag or Cr/Cu/Cr, etc.), are provided split in three thin line parts 22a-22c, 23a-23c respectively. Here, as an example, with the main discharge gap G=80μm, depth of the line parts L1 to L3=40μm, a first electrode gap S1=80μm, a second electrode gap S2=80μm, the discharge current waveform peak at the driving of the PDP is established so as to be single.
