PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color HID lamp and its manufacturing method wherein chromaticity change with regard to a longitudinal direction of a bulb is made to be suppressed. SOLUTION: In the color HID lamp 10 including a hollow and tubular inner bulb 11, electrodes 12a, 12b arranged and installed mutually opposed to each other in the inner bulb, a hollow and cylindrical outer bulb formed to cover the inner bulb, and a multilayer film coating 14 arranged on a surface of the outer bulb, the multilayer film coating 14 is formed so that an optical film thickness nd will change based on the emitting angleθfrom a light emitting part constituted between the electrodes, thereby the color HID lamp 10 is constituted.
