PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a single or plural gradation display modes with a single display driving device. SOLUTION: This is a liquid crystal display driving device 10 for driving display(s) while sequentially selecting four pieces of common electrodes at the same time, and the latter part of a latch circuit 26 is provided with a decoder 24 having 1st and 2nd sub-decoders 24A, 24B for dividing an 8-bit display data into high and low order 4-bits to be decoded, respectively. In a 4-gradation data mode, in one period P1 of a single horizontal scanning period, a gradation potential is outputted based on the output from the 1st sub-decoder 24A, and in the remaining period P, the gradation potential is outputted based on the output from the 2nd sub-decoder 24B. In a 2-gradation data mode, the gradation potential generated based on the output from the 1st sub-decoder 24A is outputted in the 1st selection period, and the gradation potential is outputted based on the output from the 2nd sub-decoder 24B in the 2nd selection period.
