PURPOSE: Provided are an apparatus and a method for producing a current collector for a secondary battery by spreading an etching resist on a substrate material of the current collector by using an embossing pattern mask. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the current collector comprises the steps of: spreading the etching resist(51) on the embossing cylindrical pattern mask, wherein the etching resist(51) is supplied continuously to the pattern mask by an ink supply roller(40); spreading the etching resist(51) on the substrate(10) according to the embossing shape of the pattern mask by the compression of a guide roller(20) and the pattern mask, wherein the guide roller(20) is contacted nearly with the pattern mask; etching the substrate(10) according to the shape of the etching resist by a reel to reel method.
