The crisp bread may pass through a series of such rollers heated to different temperatures. Adjacent rollers may be heated to different temperatures. Rollers may have different profiles to produce three-dimensional shapes. The gap between adjacent rollers may be regulated via a cam or elliptical gear wheels, or pressure variation between adjacent rollers. The residence time of each piece of crisp bread is regulated by the roller speed of rotation. Pre-baked crisp bread is placed in a foil-lined form and is transported by an endless belt between a load point and a post-baking discharge point. The forms are in quasi-continuous permanent circulation and are emptied by cooled lever-lifters and shaking, or by vacuum action. The baking process terminates after the crisp bread has been removed from the form and is further transported.
