PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processing device which performs proper carrying when a paper sheet bundle, or a bundle of paper sheets, passes while maintaining a sandwiching force to the paper sheets. SOLUTION: This paper sheet processing device includes a pair of endless belts 10 and 20a and a plurality of pulleys 11, 21, 22, 23 and 24 forming a carrying passage of the respective endless belts 10 and 20a. The positional relationship that a third pulley 11 contacting with the other endless belt 10 making a pair with the endless belt contacting with these first pulley 21 and second pulley 22, exists between the first pulley 21 and the second pulley 22, is realized to the first pulley 21 and the second pulley 22 contacting with the one endless belt 20a in a mutually adjacent state, and is constituted so that the distance D1 of a paper sheet carrying passage Xa up to a contact point Q1 between the second pulley 22 and the endless belt 10 contacting with the second pulley 22 from the contact point P1 between the first pulley 21 and the endless belt 10 contacting with the first pulley 21, becomes the length L or less in the carrying direction of a bill carried along the paper sheet carrying passage Xa.
