PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in wear resistance, surface lubricity, etc., and having good electrical response. SOLUTION: In the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer on an electrically conductive substrate, the photosensitive layer contains a polyarylate resin having a structural unit of formula (1) (where A and B are each a benzene ring which may have a substituent other than halogen; Y is a single bond or a linking group; symbols A, B and Y in repeating units in the polymer may be the same or different; and the molar ratio between acid components in the polymer satisfies 0.50<(terephthalic acid)/((terephthalic acid)+(isophthalic acid))<=0.7).
