PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and miniaturized high-speed optical signal processor with low power consumption and adaptive to a burst signal and optionally permitting the partial processing or overall processing of a high-speed optical packet. SOLUTION: The compact optical signal processor with low power consumption is realized. An optical packet is branched to two packets, an optical pulse generator 102 generates a single optical pulse or an optical pulse train of a period corresponding to k times the bit period of one optical packet and a light-light type serial/parallel converter 104 using a surface type optical switch converts the other optical packet into k parallel electric signals by using the generated pulse, further the electric signals are converted into k pieces of the parallel light signals, and guided into an Si group electronic circuit 108 to realize high-speed optical signal processing. Since a memory circuit and a label recognition circuit are applied to electronic circuits, the buffer processing of the optical packets, address extraction, etc., can be realized. |
