PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform high-accuracy registration correction by accurately detecting positional deviation between respective images regardless of a flaw on a moving body or an image forming condition. SOLUTION: In this device, a multicolor image is formed on recording paper by arraying plural photoreceptor drums along a transfer belt and radiating a laser beam. In order to detect the positional deviation at such a time, a pattern image (mark) for registration correction is transferred to the transfer belt and the mark is read by a CCD image sensor. The histogram of the read pattern image data is made by a CPU, and the positional deviation (that is, the deviation of other colors from a reference color) between the respective images formed by plural image forming parts is calculated based on binary data obtained by binarizing the histogram data, and the registration correction of each color is performed by controlling the timing of a series of registration correction based on the calculated deviation. |
