PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rope adjusting device capable of easily adjusting and controlling the length of a wire rope used in the construction work by a cable crane construction method or the like. SOLUTION: This device for adjusting the wire rope suspended between two points to the predetermined desired length at both ends is provided with a frame, an auxiliary wire rope connected to one end of the wire rope, a drum winding and delivering the auxiliary wire rope and rotatably supported on the frame, a first driving means rotating the drum, and s second driving means rotating the drum at a speed lower than that of the first driving means. For adjusting the length of the wire rope, the drum is rotated by the first driving means to wind the auxiliary wire rope, then the drum is rotated by the second driving means to wind the auxiliary wire rope.
