PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an ordinary refrigerator needs a too long time to immediately cool a thermally cooked food such as a curry roux and further a problem that a refrigerator using a vacuum cooling device or a differential pressure cooling device requires a too high cost. SOLUTION: A lifting shelf 11 for loading many cooked food-charged vats thereon at many stages is liftably supported on a frame 8 having castors 8, and the many vats are provided with many cold water pipes 30, respectively, placed above the vats, and with a jack for lifting or lowering the lifting shelf. When the lifting shelf 11 is lifted in a state that the food-charged vats 20 are loaded on the lifting shelf 11, the immersion portions 30b of the cold water pipes 30 are immersed in the foods in the vats, respectively. The supply of the cold water to the cooling water pipes 30 is carried out by connecting a cooling water-supplying hose 35 extended from a chiller unit to a cold water inlet pipe through a coupler. Thereby, the foods can quickly be cooled from their insides with the cooling pipes 30, and since a large device such as a vacuum device is not necessary, the foods can be cooled at a low cost.
