PURPOSE:To automatically inspect a lens barrel with an image pickup element for resolution without allowing the judgment to fluctuate. CONSTITUTION:By assembling an image pickup element 2 in the image forming surface of a lens barrel 1 and taking the picture of a resolution chart 12 on which white and black stripes are marked at resolution lower than the limit resolution, the modulation factor of video signals obtained from the element 2 is found from the amplitude of the video signals by means of a picture processor 8 and the propriety of the modulation factor is discriminated by comparing the modulation factor with a preset reference value. |
