PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propagate light with small loss, while optically coupling an optical waveguide to a semiconductor light-receiving element at high light receiving efficiency, in an optical integrated circuit board. SOLUTION: In the optical integrated circuit board, wherein the optical waveguide having at least a lower clad part 2 and a core part 3 is formed on the board 1 and also a metal setting-up part 6 for setting up the optical element and a thin-film optical element 5 set up in the metal setting-up part 6 are embedded in the optical waveguide; satisfactory optical coupling is obtained between the thin-film optical element 5 and the optical waveguide because a distance between the core part 3; the board 1 is elongated in a region, where the thin film type optical element 5 does not exist, while shortening a distance between the thin-film optical element 5 and the core part 3; and also the interaction between propagating light and the board 1 is eliminated in the region, where the thin-film optical element 5 does not exist and whereby light is transmitted at with small loss. |
