PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front fork of which constitution is not so complicated, which has damping force characteristics at the power on 2/3 or proportional characteristics to enhance degree of freedom of damping characteristics, without generating dead zone of the damping force at a time of switching between extending operation and shrinking operation. SOLUTION: A partition wall member VB is disposed at an upper portion in a hollow rod 13. The partition wall member VB has an extending side main port 23 connecting a first port 20 to an oil chamber 19 in the hollow rod 13, a compression side main port 22 connecting the oil chamber 19 in the hollow rod 13 and a reservoir R, and an extending side sub-support 22a. At an end portion of the extending side main port 23, an extending side damping valve V1 with bending characteristics is disposed to be capable of opening/closing. At an end portion of the compression side main port 22, a compression side damping valve V2 with bending characteristics is disposed to be capable of opening/closing. Further, at an end portion of the extending side sub-support V1, an extending side check valve V3 is disposed to be capable of opening/ closing.
