PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information adding device which is capable of adding information to image data without changing an image in representation form. SOLUTION: When bit strings serving as information are buried bit by bit in the pixels of the image data 3 of an image file 1, and extended color table 2A composed of a non-extended part 2a and an extended part 2b is formed. Thereafter, when a bit value which is buried in pixels is zero, the index value of the non-extended part 2a is set up, and when a bit value is one, image data 3A is formed where the index value of the extended part 2b that indicates the RGB value equal to that indicated by the previously set index value is set. By this setup, an image file of additional information-attached images where information 15 is added is formed.
