Recovery of coating removal material involves filtering the material and separating the inert slurry, compacting the slurry by pressing and forming a new coating removal material from the filtered solution, with the addition of water and reactant. The installation for carrying out the procedure comprises a receiving pit (1) for the solution to be recovered, a precipitation tank (2) with upper entries (26,27) for the addition of water and reactant to the solution, a filter-press (3) for the separation and pressing of the slurry, a storage tank (4) for the recovered solution, and devices for conducting and promoting dissolution in the installation.
