Holding arrangement for the deck of a sailboat

The deck retaining mechanism for a sailing vessel with a hull (C) and a mast (M) passing through the deck (P) and fastened to the hull at keel level consists of stops (B) fixed to the mast just above deck level and connected by adjustable screws to a thrust plate (I') on the deck round the mast. The screws are adjusted to counteract the lifting force on the deck applied by mast rigging lines (D) passing through pulleys (R).
