A novel industrial process for producing methanol which is useful in alcoholic fuels, etc. whereby the limits in the conventional process for producing an enzyme protein (a target enzyme protein) converting methane into methanol with the use of a gene of a methane-fermenting bacterium can be overcome and the expression dose can be remarkably elevated. More particularly, a novel method for efficiently and economically producing methanol which comprises synthesizing primers based on the gene sequence of the target enzyme protein converting methane into methanol of a methane-fermenting bacterium, amplifying the target gene by the PCR method, transplanting the target gene into an expression vector, culturing and expressing a transformant with the use of a host, and collecting the target enzyme protein. |
