PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel high solid content coating material composition which has a low viscosity of the coating material and, simultaneously, unrecognized lowering of a coating film performance and, in addition, can form the coating film having excellent finish external appearance, coating film hardness, resistance to acid precipitation, and scuff resistance, and a method for forming a multilayered coating film by using this composition. SOLUTION: The high solid content coating material composition comprises (A) a hydroxyl group-containing compound having a weight average molecular weight of <=1,000 and a hydroxyl number of 200-800 and (B) a polyisocyanate compound at a ratio of both the components by a molar ratio of NCO/OH of 0.5/1 to 2.0/1. The method for forming a multilayered coating film comprises forming a multilayered coating film composed of one or more colored coating films and one or more transparent coating films, the transparent coating film of the uppermost layer being formed with the above high solid content coating material composition.
