PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver for easily grasping respective program contents which are being displayed on a multi-screen and efficiently selecting a desired program. SOLUTION: The video signals of respective channels, selected cyclically by a second tuner 202, are arranged by the system of a decoder 204, a multi- screen generating part 205 and a display form selecting part 212 and displayed on the multi-screen by a CRT 213. In this case, information of an electronic program guide(EPG) is decoded simultaneously by an EPG decoder 214, and a category information extracting part 215 extracts category information, corresponding to each channel selected by the second tuner 202 from decoded EPG information. The extracted category information is inputted to a category identifying information generating part 216, and category identifying information is added and displayed on the multi-screen.
