PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device which makes it possible to obtain an even distribution of illumination without deteriorating the emitting efficiency. SOLUTION: In the illumination device wherein the light emitted from a light source (1) is condensed by an oval-figured mirror (2) to be guided into through an incident end (3a) of an optical-fiber light guide (3) and emitted from an emission end (3b) of the optical-fiber light guide, thereby the desired part is irradiated with the light, a pressurizing mechanism (4) is provided on the outer periphery of the optical-fiber light guide (3) to apply pressure thereto.
