PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength and reliability of a hydrogen-isolating unit having a layered structure. SOLUTION: The three kinds of layers such as the hydrogen-extracting layer 210, the separating layer 220 having a hydrogen-separating membrane, the gas- reforming layer 230, and the separating layer 220 are layered in this order, repeatedly. Each layer is formed from porous ceramics to ensure its strength. The gas is set to flow in the same direction through the gas-reforming layer and the extracting layer to simplify the gas-supplying and -discharging structure. The whole unit is cushioned and mounted in a casing to ensure the strength and sealing. A catalyst for converting carbon monoxide to methane is installed in the separating layer 220 or the extracting layer 210 to prevent the bad influence caused by the contamination of carbon monoxide through pinholes and so on. |
