PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive type range-finding device having a charge storage type sensor, made inexpensive and providing an appropriate integration signal in every photographic scene. SOLUTION: In this range-finding device, object light is received by a light receiving means equipped with a plurality of photodetectors, and a defocus amount or a distance to an object is measured, based on integration output from the light receiving means. The device is provided with a 1st integration control means comparing monitor output indicating integration circumstances produced from the light receiving means with a specified value and finishing the integration operation by the light receiving means when deciding that the monitor output exceeds a given value, a 2nd integration control means referring to the monitor output indicating the integration circumstance produced from the light receiving means, determining whether or not the integration operation by the light receiving means is performed at an appropriate integration level and finishing the integration operation by the light receiving means when judging that the integration operation by the light receiving means is performed at the appropriate integration level, and a control means switching the 1st and the 2nd integration control means and making them effective. |
