PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide additives to lubricant rheologically excellent at low and high temperatures achieving increased axle efficiency, lowered axle temperature, improved slip restriction, lowered chattering, and improved friction resistance. SOLUTION: The lubricant for automotive and industrial gears contains approximately 40-85 wt.% of an oil of lubricating viscosity; approximately 0.01-5 wt.% of at least one carboxylic acid having 5-60 carbons and at least one amine reaction product selected from the group consisting of guanidine, aminoguanidine, urea, thiourea, and their salts; and 2-25 wt.% of a gear additive package. |
