PURPOSE: A roof for a vehicle is provided to use roof panels of the vehicle in common regardless of installation of a sunroof by inserting and welding plural protruded pieces of a fixing plate into plural stepped recesses of the roof panel. CONSTITUTION: Plural protruded pieces(5) are formed in a fixing plate and fixed between a roof panel and a side panel by welding. The edge of the roof panel is overlapped in a flange of the side panel, and plural stepped recesses(4) are formed in the roof panel by press processing. Protruded pieces of the fixing plate are inserted to the stepped recesses of the roof panel, and fixed firmly in the stepped recesses with spot-welding. The roof panel is used in common regardless of installation of the sunroof with inserting the protruded piece to the recess of the roof panel.
