METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MICROLENS ARRAY MOLD AND MICROLENS ARRAY

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a microlens array is provided to produce a precise mold for a fine optical product and not to damage the mold surface by using a spinning half radius diamond cutting member. CONSTITUTION: A movable substrate(14) is offered. A forming element with a rotatable hardened cutting member is offered to form a microlens array mold on the movable substrate. The movable substrate is moved to a first milling position for the rotatable hardened cutting member. One microlens mold(10) is formed in the microlens array mold by milling the first milling position. A second milling position is exposed by moving the movable substrate. The rotatable hardened cutting member is moved to the second milling position. Another microlens mold is formed on the microlens array mold by milling the second milling position. The microlens array mold with many microlens molds is formed by repeating these operations. Thereby, the microlens array mold is suitable for fine optical products of high quality.
