PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a waveguide element is not broken even if it is influenced by a thermotic disturbance or a dynamic disturbance. SOLUTION: Since a buffer resin 21 is provided in a gap 11 between a casing body 2 and a waveguide element 4, the waveguide element 4 is warped when it is influenced by the thermotic disturbance such as a heat history or a change in temperature and the dynamic disturbance is absorbed by the resin 21 provided in the gap 11 between the casing body 2 and the waveguide element 4 when it is influenced by the dynamic disturbance such as vibrations or impacts. Then, the waveguide element 4 is prevented from breaking. Also, since a flow-out preventing wall 22 is formed around the waveguide element 4 within the casing body 2, the resin 21 is easily poured before being solidified and the resin 21 is prevented from flowing-out. Then, the resin 21 is not wasted and the waveguide element 4 is protected by the resin 21 having a satisfactory thickness. |
