PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor coating apparatus, in which the quantity of a coating liquid to be used can be saved. SOLUTION: In the photoreceptor coating apparatus, a substrate 6 for a photoreceptor held by a holding part 7 to be tightly closed at the upper end is moved downward (in the direction of arrow D3), dipped into the coating liquid stored in a coating tank 1 and after being coated, moved upward (in the direction of arrow D4) and drawn up from the coating liquid in the coating tank 1. A liquid saving tool 5 having a projecting-shaped ceiling surface 13 is provided to suppress the rocking of the coating liquid surface particularly in the photoreceptor coating apparatus.
