PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the nearer an object is, the larger a light receiving amount is, the further the object is, the smaller the light receiving amount is because an emission element emits the pulse light of constant output and a distance between the object and a detector is judged by the light receiving level of the emission level, an amplifier wide in a dynamic range is needed, and circuit constitution is complicated because consideration in which the influence of noise is lessened and oscillation is prevented is required. SOLUTION: In the distance detector composed of the emission element 51 emitting light and a light receiving element 52 reflected on the object by the emission light and receiving the reflection light 54b, the emission element 51 outputs different light outputs toward the object, the light receiving element 52 receives the reflection light 54b from the object, when the light receiving amount reaches a prescribed level, relation of the light receiving amount of the light receiving element and the distance d of the object is previously measured by using emission element drive current as a parameter, and it can be solved that the distance of the object is measured on the measured value.
