METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DETECTING ARTIFICIAL OBJECT EXISTING ON GROUND SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting artificial object existing on ground surface by which an artificial object having little temperature different with a natural object and painted in the same color as that of the natural object can be detected easily from the ground surface. SOLUTION: The short-wavelength optical image of an objective ground surface area is formed by picking up the image of the area by using a short- wavelength optical image pickup device 2 which detects short-wavelength light the wavelength of which falls within the wavelength band of 190-500 nm and the optical image is displayed on a display device 4. When the artificial object 5 exists in the picked-up optical image of the ground surface area, the artificial object 5 is displayed with high luminance and the natural object is displayed with low luminance on the screen 10 of the device 4. Since a visible image showing the artificial object 5 and natural object with a clear contract between them is displayed on the screen 10, the artificial object 5 existing in the ground surface area can be detected easily.
