PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition improved in impact resistance, moldability, transparency, mechanical properties or the like and also an impact resistant molded article obtained by using the same. SOLUTION: A polyester resin (I) comprises (A) a dicarboxylic acid component mainly including a terephthalic acid unit, (B) a bivalent alcohol component having mainly a 1,4-butanediol unit and (C) 0.5-8 mol% (in the bivalent alcohol) poly (alkylene glycol) having a number average molecular weight of 500 to 3,000, and has 0.70 dl/g or more of intrinsic viscosity [η] measured in a phenol/ tetrachloroethane equivalent mixture solvent at 25 deg.C. The thermoplastic resin composition comprises 5-70 mass% of the above polyester resin (I) and 95-30 mass% of another thermoplastic resin (II) different from the former (based on 100 mass% in total).
