PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tread for a passenger conveyor at a relatively low manu facturing cost without costing dearly for facility. SOLUTION: This invention is formed of a this plate 1 having plural slits 2 in the longitudinal direction, small pieces 3 inserted from under the slits 2 and projected from a surface of the thin plate 1 so as to form rails, and a means 4 for preventing a removal of the small pieces 4 inserted into the slits 2.
