PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically weigh and band long vegetables represented by Welsh onions. SOLUTION: Welsh onions or the like are loaded on a weighing machine and their weight is automatically measured. When the weight reaches a specified weight, a receptacle of the weighing machine is elevated, and a bottom of the weighing machine is opened, and the onions or the like are loaded on the receptacle, and the receptacle is lowered. The onions or the like are transferred to a conveyor, conveyed securely and without being damaged, and automatically banded at a specified position at regular intervals. While the onions or the like are conveyed, they are conveyed in regular intervals and are conveyed efficiently to a banding machine without stopping the conveyer by installing holding receptacles in a way that the onions or like are held up in their position if a forward position is filled by the onions or the like, and the holdup is cancelled if not filled.
