PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic matter treating device which is of a low-cost structure and easily verifies the quantity and condition of a discharged matter. SOLUTION: This organic matter treating device comprises a treatment tank 1 which stores a carrier of organic matter-decomposing microbes and treats the organic matter such as loaded garbage by decomposition, an outer shell casing 2 for housing the treatment tank 1, a stirring means (stirring blades 9 and the like) for stirring and mixing the organic matter loaded into the treatment tank 1 and the stored carrier, a discharge aperture 80 which makes the treated matter in the treatment tank 1 overflow following the stirring of the organic matter and the carrier by the stirring means and a stocker 83 which accumulates the overflowing discharged matter from the discharge aperture 80. In addition, the stocker 83 is at least partially exposed to the outside of the outer shell casing 2 in the entire stocker height direction and thus is formed as a transparent or translucent part.
